Alida Teresa Lyons

Alida Teresa Lyons, 74, of New Britain, passed away on March 29, 2018, after a short-lived battle with cancer. She was born on June 20, 1943 in Prodenone, Italy.

Alida is Survived by her husband, of 36 years, James O’Leary; her son John J. Lyons of Meriden; her five brothers, Giancarlo, Gimmie, Renato, Mauro, and Roland; and her extended family in Italy.

Alida Loved her life. She enjoyed taking care of her home, her pets, and her husband. She had the ability to speak 5 different languages but understood many others. She was quite an accomplished artist as well. Her home is filled with her paintings and drawings, even replacing some of James’s pictures with her own. She was a wonderful cook, she could make anything.  She specialized in Italian desserts and cakes; Tiramisu was one of her best, making it for special occasions and very special friends.

She was loved by all who knew her and will be greatly missed.

A memorial service will be held in her honor on Thursday April 12, 2018 at Luddy-Peterson Funeral Home, 205 South Main St. New Britain, at 3PM.
