Margaret Ann (Coyle) Roden

August 11, 1934 ~ December 20, 2017 (age 83) 83 Years Old

Margaret (Coyle) Roden, 83, of New Britain, passed away peacefully following a brief illness on December 20th, 2017 at the Hospital of Central Connecticut with her family at her side. Born in New Britain on August 11, 1934, she was the daughter of the late Francis John and Genevieve (Buden) Coyle.  She graduated from St. Joseph’s School and New Britain High School, class of 1954.

Peggy loved her hometown of New Britain where she lived her entire life.  She served on the New Britain Parks Board and Zoning Commission.  She was active in the Junior Women’s Club of New Britain and was a Charter member of the Suburban Women’s Club of New Britain for over 50 years.  As a member of St. Joseph’s Parish, she taught CCD, was president of the Rosary Guild and served as an Eucharistic Minister.  She was also a real estate agent for Barrows and Wallace.

Beside her loving husband Raymond, whom she was married to for over 63 years, she leaves to mourn her two sons Timothy Roden of New Britain and Jeffery and his wife Julie Roden of Portland; her pride and joy, grandson Daniel of Portland.  She also leaves four siblings, William and his wife Jane Coyle of Boca Raton, FL., Patricia and her husband Stephen Grego of New Britain, Roger and Patricia Coyle of New Britain, Linda Cordonier of New Britain, and a sister-in-law Dorothy Varano. Peggy was blessed with many nieces and nephews, all of her Buden cousins and several childhood friends. She is predeceased by her brothers-in-law Dallas Cordonier and John Roden, sisters-in-law Shirley Cowles and Evelyn Roden and by her infant son, Raymond P. Roden Jr. 

A Mass of Christian will be celebrated at 10AM on Wednesday, December 27, 2017 at St. Joseph Church, 195 S. Main St., New Britain.  Friends are invited to call on Tuesday, December 26, 2017 from 5-7PM at Luddy-Peterson Funeral Home, 205 S. Main St., New Britain.

In lieu of flowers, donations in Peggy’s memory may be made to Divine Providence Rosary Guild Scholarship Fund. 195 S. Main St. New Britain, CT 06051.
