Marianne Ludwikow, 91, died peacefully at home on Saturday October 7, 2017 in the presence of her children. Marianne was born June 24, 1926 in Nuremburg, Germany and came to the United States in 1953 to start a new life and raise her family. She was a lover of all wildlife, flowers, warm wishes for everyone and most of all her family. Thankful to be able to live in America, she settled here in Connecticut because it let her experience the four seasons, all of which she loved. Some of her most enjoyable times were those shared with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren with whom she shared many of her simple but wonderful artistic talents.  Marianne was predeceased by her husband  Walter, and a son, Peter. She is survived by her loving daughter Maria Kaczynski, and her husband Alex of New Britain. A son, Attorney Steven Ludwikow and his wife Patricia of New Britain, and a grandson Steven of Hamden, Connecticut. Her granddaughter, Karin McLaughlin and her husband Frank of East Hampton, and great-grandchildren Kayla and Meagan, and  granddaughter Kristen Ludwikow of Canton, and a  great-grandson Peter Ludwikow, proudly serving his country on active duty in the Air Force. The family is eternally grateful to Maria, for the loving companionship, care and concern she provided to her mother, and  especially thankful to Hartford Healthcare at Home Hospice Care, whose care and support will be remembered. Marianne was a lifelong member of St. John the Evangelist Roman Catholic Church.
