Regina Elizabeth (Kelly) Thomasen, 93, of New Britain, passed away peacefully on Saturday April 14, 2018 surrounded by her family. Regina was born in New Britain on September 7, 1924, daughter of the late Edward P. and Mary (Maloney) Kelly.
Regina was raised and lived in New Britain, Plainville and Southington throughout her life. She worked at the CT Department of Labor before moving on to work at the CCSU Library as an archivist until she retired. She also volunteered in the gift shop at New Britain General Hospital for many years.
She is survived by her children and their spouses Bill K. Thomasen, Jr., Kathleen Grieco, Jody Keegan, Jon Thomasen and Barry Thomasen; her sister Joan (Kelly) Coyle; 12 grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren; and many nieces, nephews and friends. She is predeceased by her ex-husband of 38 years William K. Thomasen, Sr.; her son Robert Thomasen; and 6 of her 7 siblings Edward, Margaret, Rita, Jack, Joe and Mary.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Saturday, April 21, 2018 at 11AM at St. Joseph Church, 195 S. Main St., New Britain followed by internment at St. Mary Cemetery, 1309 Stanley St., New Britain. Family and friends are invited to attend calling hours on Saturday morning from 8:30-10:30AM at Luddy-Peterson Funeral Home, 205 S. Main St., New Britain.
