Aleksander Koza, 71, of Glastonbury passed away peacefully on September 1, 2019 at The Hospital of Central Connecticut in New Britain.
He was born in Poland on July 16, 1948, a son of the late Bronislaw and Kazimiera (Kolodziejczyk) Koza.
He immigrated to the United States in 1961 at the age of 13 with his family. He graduated from Technical School and became a welder.
He is survived by his son, Robert Koza and his wife Maryellen of Wallingford and three grandchildren, Matthew, Nicholas, and Paige Koza of Wallingford; a beloved sister Teresa Koza-Bliven of Plainville, who loved and cared for him until the end; a sister in law, Jolanta Koza of Wethersfield; a nephew Christopher Koza and his wife Kayla of Willington; a niece Michelle Koza-Koc and her husband Dorian of Plainville; and two great-nephews Nikodem and Caleb Koc of Plainville.
He was predeceased by his brother Jerzy Koza and recently by his younger brother, Mark Koza on June 6, 2019 and his brother in law Gary Bliven.
The family would like to thank the wonderful and caring staff at Jerome Home in New Britain and The Hospital of Central Connecticut in New Britain for their compassionate and loving care.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10am on Thursday, September 5, 2019 directly at SS Cyril & Methodius Parish, 63 Popieluszko Court in Hartford. Burial will be at Cedar Hill Cemetery, Hartford.
In lieu of flowers, gifts in his memory can be made to the American Cancer Society.
