Donald Anthony Walsh

Donald A Walsh, age 92, passed peacefully from old age at Manchester hospital on Feb. 6, 2018. He lived in East Hartford and was born 10/20/1925 in Van Buren, Maine to Theresa and John Walsh, the 2nd of 9 children. He served in WWII in the US Navy and was present at the invasion of Leyte gulf in the Philippines for his 19th birthday. After returning home he moved to the central CT area where he lived the rest of his life and thrived in the concrete home foundation industry. He owned his own business and did well for himself.  He was a kind soul to his cats, as well as all other animals and people in need. His large heart was known to many family members all his life as his financial generosity was often there when need.  He was definitely a person who gave more than they took from life. He is survived by two sisters, Margaret Silvia of Hampton, VA and Ann of Haverhill, MA; his daughter Becky Keelan of Tampa, FL and his 2 sons, Larry Walsh and his wife Linda and Michael and his wife Michelle of CT.  Calling hours will be held on Tuesday, Feb. 13., from 3-4:30PM followed by Military Honors at Luddy-Peterson Funeral Home, 205 S. Main St., New Britain, CT.
