Jason Philip Pratt

Torrington: Jason Philip Pratt, 34, passed away on Monday, July 1, 2019.

Jason was born on November 19, 1984, in Waterbury, CT, the beloved and cherished first son of Philip R. Pratt, of Murrells Inlet, SC, formerly of Bethlehem, CT, and Dianne Slater (Shelnut) (and partner, Stephen Smolka) of Watertown, CT.

Jason was a beautiful child and young man; inside and out. He was precocious, witty, bright, kind and full of love. Jason had such potential to excel in life, but he, like so many others suffered from anxiety, depression, and addiction.

Jason is at peace now with his Creator. “Nothing real can be threatened. Nothing unreal exists. Herein lies the peace of God.”

In addition to his parents, Jason leaves behind his loving brother, Jeremy Pratt, of West Hartford, CT; his loving sister, Chelsea Slater (and fiancé, Tyler Pascoe) of Watertown, CT; his wonderful and supportive uncle, Russell Pratt of Albuquerque, NM; his kind and loving aunt, Lynn Martin, of Orange, MA; as well as several cousins and friends who will miss him dearly.

Jason was predeceased by his paternal grandparents, Philip and Eunice Pratt, maternal grandparents, Richard and Jacqueline Shelnut, and his uncle, Brian Shelnut.

There will be a celebration of life held on Saturday, July 6, 2019 at 1:00 pm, at the Montfort House, Lourdes in Litchfield Shrine, 83 Montfort Road, Litchfield, CT (directly off Rt. 118, East Street, following the driveway to the top of the hill).

In lieu of flowers, the family has requested that donations be made to Dianne Slater to help with funeral expenses. (PO Box 423, Watertown, CT 06795).
