Patricia Anne (Dziadowicz) Cook, 72, of Plainville, died at home on August 2, 2018 after a short illness. She was a New Britain native and class of 1964 graduate of New Britain High School. Patti (or sometimes just Pat) lived for more than 30 years in Burlington, where she coached girls softball in the 1970s and was also involved in other recreation programs and fundraisers. She made many lifelong friends from her work, including at Emhart in Farmington and more recently for Verizon. She was a diehard fan of the UConn women's basketball team, watching many home games and traveling with her friends to cheer for them in many playoffs. Patti was also known for her cake decorating expertise, for many years operating a wedding cake side business and making special cakes for the celebrations of family and friends. In her late 30s, Patti went back to college and took enough evening classes to obtain an Associate's degree from the University of Hartford.
She gave generously of herself to her grandchildren, Cara and Blaze, both of Milford. She is survived by a sister, Roxie Dziadowicz of New Britain and her sons Steven of Burlington and John of California. She separated from John Cook of Burlington after nearly 40 years of marriage.
She is predeceased by her brother, Dennis Dziadowicz of Stafford Springs, and her parents, Edward and Mary "Mae" (Bielawski) Dziadowicz of New Britain.
