Richard Louis Pahl, age 94 of Bristol, passed away peacefully at home on May 9th.
Mr. Pahl was a United States Army veteran of WWII. He served as a medic in the 71st Evacuation Hospital and was stationed in the South Pacific.
After the war he was employed by Olson Brothers & Company in Plainville for over 30 years as a head machinist until his retirement in 1985.
He was born in Burlington, Vermont on the 7th of August 1923. He was the oldest child of the late Louis William Pahl Sr. and Myrtie Etta Haskins. He was predeceased by all of his siblings, Louis William Pahl Jr, Edward “Sunny” Hoyt Pahl, Gerald Gene Pahl, Donald Meloine Pahl, Rodney Charles Pahl and twin sisters, Maxine Irene Pahl and Marlene Elsie Pahl (Swigert).
Richard is survived by his wife of more than 70 years Patricia Helen Cobb Pahl; children Robert Pahl (Becky), Craig Pahl (Wendy) and Lori Madore. Also surviving are granddaughters, Michelle Cooper, Amanda Garverich, Jackie Krauland, Cristy Basconi, Heather Madore, Mallory Madore and great grandchildren Owen Garverich, Hunter Zelefrow, Casey Krauland, Katrina Krauland, Marina Basconi and Lacy Basconi.
