Thomas Jenkins, Jr.

Thomas Jenkins, Jr., 87, of New Britain, CT passed away Sunday, September 8, 2019, at Autumn Lake Health Care in New Britain, CT.

Thomas was born July 17, 1932, in Brassfield, NC and was the son of the late Thomas and Willie Lee Jenkins. He was predeceased by his wife of many years, Autry A. Jenkins; his son Larry Jenkins; his brother Robert Earl Jenkins; his sister Mary Ida Robinson; his great-grandchild Joel Hightower and two step-children, Darrel and Robert Seymour.

Hi is survived by his sisters, Mattie Braswell (Dan), Sadie Ward, and Deborah Forthergill (Bryan); his grandchildren, Larry, Taunya and Dawanya Jenkins; his step-children, Penny Clark (Ricky, Sr.), April, Haley, Darnell and William Seymour (Diane); his step-grand children, Ricky Clark, Jr. (Amanda), Marlo, William, Latisha, Ashley, Avery, William III, Christopher, Rodney, Steven, Robert Jr., Tomekas and Sade Seymour.

Thomas also leaves behind 38 great grandchildren, 12 great-great grandchildren, and a host of nieces and nephews.

Thomas graduated from Creedmoor High School in North Carolina. He later went on to move to Connecticut, where he worked at Carlingtonswitch for many years, until retirement. He enjoyed watching old western movies, listening to the O'Jays and his favorite sport, bowling. He was a life member of the T.N.B.A. and of the Central CT Bowling Association, where he also served as president. He was also a member of the bowling Hall of Fame.

Thomas was and will always be remembered for the lover and humble man that he was, may he rest in peace.
