Tracey Wieczorek Obituary

Tracey Ann Wieczorek, 41, of Unionville, passed away on August 4, 2018 at Hartford Hospital. She was born on February 26, 1977, in New Britain to Ronald and Jean (Dougherty) Wieczorek and was the youngest of two children. She attended Gateway Community College where she earned two associate degrees. Early in her career, Tracey devoted her time to working with the elderly as a CNA at Elm Hill nursing home in Rocky Hill. After finishing her associate degrees, she landed a job at Waste Management in Springfield, MA where she has been the Office Manager for the past 20 years. Tracey enjoyed spending her spare time with her family and friends. She shared her life with her trusted companion of 16 years, Dryfuss, her rescue dog. Tracey had a love of all animals especially dogs and dolphins.

Tracey is survived by her loving parents, Ronald & Jean Wieczorek of Newington; her devoted brother, BFF & mentor, Keith, his wife Michelle, and their two children, Matthew & Hailey, of Berlin; her aunts and uncles William & Arlene DeBlasio of Berlin, Patrick & Gina Dougherty of New Britain, and John Dougherty of Newington; very special Cousins Nancy DeBlasio, William & Lynn DeBlasio and their children Ryan, Anthony & Nicole. Tracey had a kind heart and a gentle spirit and will be deeply missed by all who knew her.

Tracey was predeceased by her maternal grandparents, John & Helen Dougherty, her paternal grandparents, Walter & Louise Wieczorek, and her cousin Christine DeBlasio, with whom she was extremely close.

A Mass of Christian burial will be held Wednesday, August 8, 2018 at 11am at St. Joseph Church, 195 S. Main St., New Britain. Burial will follow in St. Mary Cemetery, New Britain. Family and friends may call at the Luddy-Peterson Funeral Home, 205 S. Main St., New Britain, on Wednesday, August 8, 2018, from 9am to 10:30am.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to CT Humane Society.
