Adam Nyquist Obituary

Adam Nyquist, 39, longtime resident of Monroe, Louisiana, passed away suddenly on Thursday, April 29th, 2021. At his bed side, was his wife Cynthia Arthur and sister Shayla DeVito.

Born September 25, 1981 in New Britain, he was the son of Charles and the late Kathleen (Gormley) Nyquist.

Adam graduated from Temple University, the Slidell Regional Police Academy and was a Juvenile Probation Officer. Adam was an avid lover of music, concerts, hiking, biking, golf and was a self-taught guitar player. He loved baseball, funny movies, and playing with his children. He will always be remembered for his kind loving heart, goofy personality, witty sarcasm, fun loving nature, and sense of humor.

In addition to his wife Cynthia and father Charles he is survived by his children, Arthur Nyquist of Monroe, LA and Madeline Nyquist of Monroe, LA. He also leaves a sister Shayla DeVito and husband Christopher of Trumbull and their two children Abbe and Ryan DeVito.

He was predeceased by his mother Kathleen Nyquist, grandmothers, Marie "Mimi' Rivers, Eileen Gormley and grandfather Donald Nyquist.

Friends and family are invited to a celebration of Adam’s life on Saturday May 15, 2021 at 10 am to 1 pm at Luddy's Funeral Home, 205 S Main St, New Britain, Connecticut. Masks and social distancing will be required.
