Agatha Mary Tilford passed away peacefully in her home on the night of Monday,
January 5th, 2026, surrounded by family. Born on September 20, 1950 she was the first
child of Agatha Mary Cetola and William “Dutch” Schroeder, who predeceased her. Her
brother William Schroeder of Guilford, VT and son William Hueller of Newington, CT
also predeceased her.
Agatha leaves behind many loved ones, including her husband Wayne Tilford, daughter
Agatha Hueller and partner Hal Coons Jr. of Newington, CT, and grandchildren Agatha
Hueller of New Britain, CT and Elijah Hueller of Newington, CT. Additionally, she leaves
behind her Aunt Mary Lou Manners of Rocky Hill, CT (children Bobby, Christina, and
Amanda) as well as many siblings, their spouses and their children including, Amy and
Curt White of Marathon, NY (children Alycia, Hunter, and Anna, along with Alycia’s
spouse TJ and their three children Griffin, Gordon, and Alice), John and Jola Bachand
of Newington, CT (children Joey, Jenny, and Jimmy), Robert Bachand, Cheryl and
Michael Sak of Kensington, CT (children Courtney and Melanie), Darice “Darcie”
Schroeder and Rick Stula of Colchester, CT, and Glenn and Wendy Schroeder of
Bristol, CT. She also leaves behind her sister-in-law Kathleen Schroeder of VT and
many cousins, extended family and beloved friends, too many to name them all.
Some of her happiest times and best memories included camping at the beach and
riding motorcycles, where she made lifelong friends. She particularly enjoyed traveling,
concerts, trying new foods, and anything that involved having fun. Over the course of
more than thirty years, she was a mother to ten rottweilers, eight of which were
rescues. She spent many years advocating for the breed and, at times, fostered and
volunteered to help transport dogs on their journey to their “furever home”. She was
also a caregiver to many people including her mother “Ga,” her long-time neighbor
Faith, and her grandchildren Agi and Eli. The saying “it takes a village,” rang strong to
Agatha. She transformed the lives of many, exuding kindness and positive energy to all
who crossed her path.
A celebration of life will be held at the Svea Club (999 Kensington Rd in Berlin, CT) on
Saturday April 25th, 2026.
