Anthony Joseph Nesta

Anthony "AJ" Nesta passed away peacefully in the company of family on May 30, 2019. He was born in New Britain, CT on March 15, 1927, to the late Joseph and Florence Nesta. He attended public schools in New Britain prior to enlisting in the US Navy, where he served aboard the USS Jason as a Seaman First Class. He was stationed on Okinawa, Japan during WWII. After returning home from military service, he worked for many years as an electronics engineer for Cardwell Ind. of Plainville, CT and for LaPointe Ind. in Rockville, CT. He later worked for the town of Vernon Police Department and for the Tolland County Constable. He enjoyed working with radio communications, first with Citizens band radio and also becoming a licensed HAM radio operator. To the delight of his friends and family, he enjoyed carrying on his fathers tradition of wine-making.

Anthony is predeceased by his wife, Mary Nesta, and by his older sister, Mildred Edmiston. He is survived by his three sons, Joseph and his wife Lynn, Anthony and his wife Linda, and Frank and his wife Chong; His two sisters, Terry Piazza of Venice, FL and Florence Boucher on New Britain, CT; two grand children; several great grand children; and many nieces and nephews.

The family would like to thank all the staff members at Victorian Gardens Assisted Living in Plainville, Mulberry Gardens Adult Day Care in New Britain, Kimberly Hall South Nursing Home in Windsor, and Tina Antunes of CT Community Care for all of their kind help.

There will be no calling hours. Burial with military honors will be private at the Veterans Cemetery, 317 Bow lane, Middletown, CT
