Augusto Carmen Oliviero

Augusto Carmen Oliviero passed away on March 6, 2024. He was born on January 12, 1938, in Prata, Italy to Orlando and Graciella Oliviero. He came to the United States in 1954. He lived in Long Island, where he began doing odd jobs and eventually started his own painting business. He later relocated to California, before finally settling down in Connecticut. Augusto was a respected remodeling and painting contractor for over 50 years. He was an avid gardener and loved plants. He could grow anything. He enjoyed painting, wood carving and furniture refinishing. In his younger years, he enjoyed golf, swimming and climbing. He mentored many young people, teaching them the painting trade.

Augusto is survived by his son Dante Oliviero and his partner in life Monique Thibodeau and her daughters Amanda, Megan, and Katie and their families. He also leaves behind, grandchildren Alyssa, Chrysandra, and Dillon as well as his great grandson Harrison; his sister Bianca; and many nieces and nephews.

Augusto is predeceased by his wife/partner Marly, his parents, and his brothers Antonio and Umberto.

Augusto touched the lives of countless people with his wit, humor and generosity. He was quite a character, and he will be greatly missed.

There will be a Memorial Service on Saturday, March 23, 2024, from Noon to 2:00pm at the Luddy Peterson Funeral Home located at 205 South Main Street in New Britain, CT.
