Brittany V. Green, 34 passed away in Brooklyn, NY on March 13, 2024. She was employed at Spear Physical and Occupational Therapy Center in Brooklyn, NY. She was a Care Coordinator where she assisted patients and provided a positive and welcoming atmosphere for the patients. Brittany was born in New Britain, Connecticut on July 31, 1989. She leaves her mother Tracy Ellison-Mann, stepfather Felton G. Mann, Sr., Grandmother Betty Ellison. Brothers, Alvin AJ Green, Jr, Skunky Green of South Carolina, stepbrother Felton Mann, Jr, sister Tamera Green of North Carolina and Godfather Ted Jeffreys. She leaves several aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. She is predeceased by her father, Alvin Green, Sr, sister Shameka Green, grandparents Henry and Elease Green, Grandfather William Ellison and Godmother Doreen Morris.
Brittany grew up in McCullough Temple, now known as Grace C.M.E. Church where she was a junior usher, a member of the youth choir and in 2006 achieved 1st place in the Hartford Usher Unit Oratorical contest where she won a scholarship for college.
Brittany was a 2007 graduate of New Britain High School where she was a Canette, Cheerleader and a member of the track team. We often told her we thought she would be the next “Flo Jo”. She went on to graduate from the University of Connecticut in 2011 where she obtained her BA degree in Fine Arts. While at UConn, Brittany was in several plays at the CT Repertory Theater. She had roles in The Who’s Tommy, Hair, Pride & Prejudice, The Exonerated and The Last Days of Judas Iscariot where she had a lead role as the attorney for Judas. She was also the 1st place runner up in the 2008 Miss African American UConn Pageant. Brittany attended NYU Tisch Graduate School (2012-2013) where she majored in acting. When Brittany came home from college break, her first stop was to always pick up food from Taco Bell, her all-time favorite. She enjoyed cooking up a seafood feast with her father every New Year’s Eve.
After graduating from UConn, Brittany had an appearance on Celebrity Ghost Stories and on a commercial as a Cashier for Coupon Suzy.
A memorial service will be held Friday, April 5, 2024, at Luddy & Peterson’s Funeral Home, 205 S. Main Street, New Britain, CT at 11:00 am with the Reverend Thomas A. Mills, Jr. presiding.
Brittany loved her two furry brothers Sage and Sirduke. It would be Brittany’s wish that in lieu of flowers, please send a donation to the Connecticut Humane Society.
