Carolyn Micanovic, 75, of Southington, died peacefully in her home on Saturday, August 13th 2022. She was born on June 13, 1947 in Alabama to the late Alfred and Lillian LaFrancois. She married Manfred Micanovic on September 28, 1968. She is predeceased by her husband, father, mother and brother, Michael LaFrancois.
Surviving her are her two beautiful daughters: Beverly Dean and Bridget Valentino; two amazing son-in- laws: Kirk Dean and Giovanni Valentino; loving brother: Larry LaFrancois; four incredible grandchildren: Dylan, Dante, Trevor and Brittani and several cousins, aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews.
Shortly after getting married, Carolyn and Fred had twins; Bridget and Beverly. She and her husband showered both of their children with unconditional love and devotion. She grew up in Westport, CT and is a graduate of Staples High School. Her close childhood friendships from Westport include Nancy, Francine, and Noel. She was employed by Lacey Manufacturing for 19 years. There she made two wonderful friends; Keysha and Maria. They became inseparable.
Carolyn was a proud resident of Southington for 15 years. She loved spending time with her Southington friends, Donna, Maryann, and Christine. They enjoyed going to the movies, rides to the beach, and enjoying good eats locally, or even just laughing and getting into mischief. Her beloved dog, Yankee, was her forever companion who brought joy to her life daily. Carolyn adored her four grandchildren. She especially loved showering them with hugs and kisses. Christmas was an everyday occurrence. She would attend their sporting events, birthday parties, bring them to Lake Compounce, Mystic, the beach, pools and other recreational activities. Fun was a priority!
Carolyn’s favorite things include: Las Vegas, Trips with Grammie, Treasured Grandkids: Dylan, Dante, Trevor and Brittani, her two loving daughters, Shopping, Shopping and more Shopping, streaming Netflix with Bev, weekly talks with her brother Larry, Yankee Bear, Ruby Tuesdays with her BFF’s, Captain’s Cove with Bridget and John, Anthony’s Ocean View because it was like an Island Vacation, Anything Elvis, Reminiscing with Aunt Evelyn, yearly visits with longtime friend Lois, Strawberry Daiquiris, Country Music (Old and New), Ice Cream and motorcycle rides with Kirk, Poconos trip with Marlena and Pop, Old time Rock N’ Roll, Dancing with Pop in the good Old days, Watching her grandkids enjoy life and rooting for her grandkids in everything that they do!
We know that we can’t have you, but we’re happy knowing that you are watching us from Heaven as our Guardian Angel. Goodbye to a wonderful woman and a beautiful mother, grandmother, mother-in- law, Aunt and friend.
Carolyn will be cremated as per her wishes. Services to remember Carolyn and celebrate her life to follow.
