Cettina Zappulla, 76 of Wethersfield/Plantsville passed away peacefully on Monday,
December 29, 2025, at Hartford Hospital surrounded by her loving family. She was born on
January 9, 1949, in Floridia, Sicily. She was predeceased by her father, Concetto and
mother Maria (Latina) Zappulla.
Zappulla. Cettina was an avid seamstress and created many beautiful
baptism and communion dresses. She loved to spend most of her time in the kitchen
making her specialty arancini, and polpettas and chicken cutlets, each one was created to
perfection. She also loved assisting her niece in making their traditional Italian pepper
biscuits together. Cettina’s sweet tooth was legendary with chocolate & ice cream always
holding a special place in her heart. She loved spending time with her family, sharing stories
of her childhood & created beautiful memories with her great nieces and nephews.
She is survived by, Brother Antonino Zappulla and his wife Kelly of Wethersfield, her niece Adriana
Warkoski and husband Jewol and their children Tatiana, Amalia, and Braylan of New
Britain. Brother, Giovanni Zappulla and his wife Maria of Plantsville, her nephew John
Zappulla of Plantsville and her niece Cassandra Scavetta and husband Michael and their
children Rocco and Dante Scavetta of Plantsville. She also leaves behind her loving
cousins in Rocky Hill, Wethersfield and Sicily.
A memorial mass will be held at 10am on
Saturday, January 17, 2026, at Church of the Incarnation, 544 Prospect St Wethersfield,
CT.
