Charles Emery (Chum), 79, of Southington, lost his battle with Covid and passed away on Sunday, January 10, 2021. He was the beloved husband of Nancy (Glidden ) Emery for 56 years. Charlie was born in Waterbury CT but shortly after moved to Sherman, Maine where he spent most of his childhood and where he created all the fond memories that became intriguing stories his children and grandchildren loved to hear. Charlie was the son of the late Sherwood Emery and Ella (Sleeper) Emery. As an adult Charlie was a longtime Southington resident and worked hard his entire life as a tool and die machinist. Charlie was a faithful man and a devout Christian. He had the most beautiful singing voice and was often asked to sing solo hymns at church on Sunday. Charlie enjoyed reading books and loved watching the Redsox and golf while drinking his Moxie. Above all he enjoyed spending time with his family. Charlie’s love and adoration for his wife was so beautifully obvious to everyone. As was his love and pride for his sons and grandchildren who he cherished so deeply. Along with his wife, he leaves his brother Billy Emery and his wife Cindy of ME, his son Eric Emery of NY, his son Sean Emery, wife Terren and their beautiful children (Charlie’s favorites) Jake, Raymond, Faith all of Plainville. Due to the pandemic, the family has opted not to have a service at this time but plans to have a Celebration of Life at a later date. In the meantime donations can be made in his name to New Horizons Living Center. For details please call 860-584-2105 or email terrenemerynhlc@gmail.com
