Charles Giampaolo, 94, of West Hartford, passed away on Tuesday, April 20, 2021. He was the beloved husband of the late Anna (Penasso) Giampaolo.
Charles was born in Waterbury, to the late Raffaele and Anna (DiLullo) Giampaolo.
Charles was a proud veteran of World War II. He served in the Army as private first class and always spoke fondly of his days in the military.
Charles was a tool designer for Pratt and Whitney for 29 years. He chose an early retirement and decided to pursue his love of art. Charles became a docent at the Wadsworth Atheneum where he enjoyed guiding tours and sharing his interests with fellow docents.
Charles was a talented artist and created many beautiful paintings throughout the years. He enjoyed trips to Italy, season tickets to the Met opera, visiting museums and foliage drives with his wife Anna.
Charles was a devoted husband and the best father anyone could ask for. He had a limitless curiosity about everything and a wonderful sense of humor. You would always learn something new after a conversation with him.
Charles is survived by his loving daughter and best friend Lisa Giampaolo; nephews, Charles and Michael Salvatore and Gianluigi, Dario and Giorgio Follo; nieces, Carol and Catherine Salvatore and Renata Follo.
In addition to his wife, Charles is predeceased by his sister Irene (Giampaolo) Salvatore.
The family would like to thank Brookdale at Chatfield, Vitas and his devoted companions Beatrice Agyei and Kelebogile Cynthia Mmoko for taking such good care of him.
