Christine Banavige Obituary

Christine Marie Roux Banavige, 52 years old, a resident of Manchester, South Windsor and most recently New Britain, Connecticut passed away unexpectedly in Worcester Massachusetts on the morning of Saturday July 30, 2022.

Christine Banavige was born on May 12, 1970 in Manchester, Connecticut to Emile and Susie Roux. After completing her schooling, Christine worked at Manchester Manor for many years as a cook. After spreading her brightness there for a few years, she decided that she wanted to move on to driving school buses for the South Windsor Public School system. She made this decision in November of 2001 and nearly 21 years later she still considered it the best job of her life. There she kindled many lifelong connections and friendships with those she worked alongside. They soon became so much more than just friends, and were more like family, even to her daughters. She grew to love anyone who walked, talked, and breathed the same air as her.

Christine was a loving mother, daughter, sister, aunt, and friend to all. Someone who was bright, selfless, thoughtful, and every other incredible adjective a person could possibly be assigned. Some would even describe her as, an Earth angel. She was very passionate about butterflies, the health, happiness and safety of her children and fur babies; collector of all small things, and an avid groupie of the Oak Ridge Boys.

Christine’s fiancé, Luc Morin, of New Britain, Connecticut, lost his life to the same tragedy as she did. She is also predeceased by her godson Michael Jenkins of Houston, Texas; and her grandmother Florence Roux of East Hartford, Connecticut.

Christine is survived by her two daughters Kimberly and Elissa Banavige of New Britain and their fur siblings- Pumpkin, Jinxie, and Tuxedo. She had great love also for her four-legged grandchildren, Pixie, Rowdy, Ino and her fur niece, Willow. Her ex husband Glenn Banavige of Manchester, Connecticut who is also the father to her children and her parents Emile and Susie Roux also of Manchester. She also left behind her brothers; and two sisters Roberta Jenkins of Clarksville, Tennessee and Yvonne Pelletier of New Brunswick, Canada. The list goes on to include Luc’s son and his wife, Christian and Summer Morin of New Britain, Luc’s daughter and her husband, Patricia Morin-Baechle and Fredrick Baechle of New Hartford, Connecticut; and the countless amounts of other family members and friends she had in her lifetime.

A celebration of her life will be held on Saturday, August 13, 2022, from 3:00 pm to 6:00 pm EST at Luddy & Peterson’s Funeral Home, 205 South Main Street, New Britain, CT 06051. As well as, a livestream for those who can’t make the service but would still like to attend. Burial arrangements will be private. With the exception of Lillies, it would be a great honor if all who attend her service, could bring their favorite flower or an arrangement of flowers that you think would best represent our beloved mother. In addition to this, please wear color or anything with butterflies rather than black to celebrate her immensely colorful soul with us.
