Colleen Green Obituary

Colleen Ann Green 55
Beloved and devoted wife to Frederick Ivan Green of East Hartford, was released by God the spirit from
her bodily prison and long-suffering battle with Myotonic Dystrophy, then welcomed by Jesus into
paradise through the grace love and mercy of God the Father, for she believed on God the Son! Pre-
deceased by entire family . One of twins born to Maureen (McKenna) Fortin Sept 4 th , 1964 she was the
surviving twin. The only daughter was adored and pampered,Colleen grew up in Manchester &
Glastonbury area, and survived following two brothers through Manchester public schools + MCC. She
had more common sense than most educated people. Because she was aware of the blessings of life ,
love ,family , home & friends. She enjoyed pets, bunnies, cats and dogs she loved all animals especially
otters, polar bears and swimming with husband and two dolphins (silky smooth) she loved the outdoors
and tent camping cooking on the fire and canoeing as long as I paddled. Quite times and not so quiet
times like May 5 th , 1984 YES concert a blind date set up by Andy Danahy & JoEllen Funke a lifelong friend
and confidant of Colleen’s that introduced her to her soulmate and future husband. Andy remarked she
likes the weird ones...you guys will probably end up getting married! We married May 16 th , 1992 at St
Paul’s Glastonbury honeymooned 10 days in Hawaii provided by her Mom! 6 on Oahu 4 on Kawi.
Colleen liked to travel she visited Ireland with family as a teenager also NYC as a teenager, FL Epcot
w/Mom, Hawaii and Bahamas with husband. Road trips through out New England one alone from
Northumberland NH (our first home) to Glastonbury to spend vacation w/Mom the year before she
died, her struggle with her mothers sudden death is more understandable now because of the disease it
is neurological /muscular degenerative. She was happy to have done that and treasured the memory
because they were best friends and very close, so the loss was very hard for her and now the family is
reunited thanks be to God.
Colleen leaves behind her husband Freddy and his extended family. Her best friend from kindergarten
JoEllen Funke and the survivors of her group from high school also a lot of others over the years you all
know who you are… Colleen was greatly loved and will be sorely missed. Her cremains will be layed to
rest in the family plot on her Mothers grave in the Green cemetery Glastonbury date to be determined,
graveside service limited due to restrictions with possible video streaming for those prevented by such.
Donations for myotonic Dystrophy research in her name maybe an option, Future Gatherings to
celebrate and remember her life to be determined date/place.
