David Robert Maloney

David Robert Maloney, age 77 of Southington, CT., husband of Christine Boganski, entered into eternal rest on Saturday, July 30, 2022 at Midstate Medical Center in Meriden, CT; surrounded by the love and comfort of his family following a brief but courageous battle with cancer.

David was born September 3, 1944 in Meriden, CT., the beloved son of the late Robert & Anita (McCoy) Maloney.  

David was a loving and dedicated husband, father, grandfather, brother, and friend to many. He spent his career working for the City of Meriden, CT. Upon retirement, David and his late wife Elaine, owned and operated Plantsville General Store for many years.  He was an avid animal lover who welcomed and fed wild turkeys, deer, and feral cats who found sanctuary in his yard. David will be missed by all who had the honor of knowing him.

Along with his parents, Robert & Anita, and beloved wife of 31 years Elaine, David is predeceased by his brother, Greg Maloney, and grandparents, Senator Francis & Martha Maloney, and Attorney David & Anna McCoy.

In addition to his wife, Christine, David is survived by: two brothers, two sisters, four step-children, several grandchildren and great-grandchildren, his pooch and best friend, Peanut; and a host of extended family and friends who will cherish his memory.

A Memorial Service honoring David’s life will be held Monday, August 15, 2022 from 10:00AM – 1:00PM at Luddy-Peterson Funeral Home, 205 S. Main Street, New Britain, CT 06051.
