David William Olsen

David Olsen, 76, was a longtime resident of Plainville, CT passed away peacefully on Tuesday
June 17, 2025, at Midstate Medical Center in Meriden, CT.

David was born May 29, 1949, in Bristol, CT and was the son of Roy and Florence (Caliendo)
Olsen. David grew up in Plainville- he graduated Plainville High School in 1967. David then
moved to California where he lived for almost 10 years before moving back to Plainville and
surrounding areas where he lived for the remainder of his life. David was a highly respected and
core member of A Team Security for over ten years during this time he built a lifelong
friendship with Charlie Daniels and his crew members. After working security David worked as a
maintenance director for Plainville Health Care and various hotels until he retired in 1998.
David was an avid fisherman who loved nothing more than a day on the lake with a friend, one
of his brothers or his son casting lines and seeing what would bite. David also loved Chevrolet
hot rods and muscle cars and always had a project going in the garage. This was something he
shared with his children, bringing them to countless car shows and hot rod events throughout
their childhood. David was an enthusiastic Giants football fan enjoying watching the games on
TV every week no matter their record and even attending a few games with his son in the last
few years. David loved many things but above all, he loved his family. David was a loving father,
brother, son and Papa and will be missed endlessly by those who knew him.

David is survived by his long time significant other Jane Theriault of Plainville, CT, his son
Nicholas and wife Shannon of Plainville, CT, his daughter Kasey and husband Daniel and their
daughter Dakota of Plymouth, CT, the mother of his children Rosemary Beaudoin of Plainville,
CT, his brothers William of Leesburg, FL and Richard of Providence, RI, and his sister Margaret
and husband Bruce of Plainville, CT as well as his niece Krystina and nephews Bobby, Jason and
Nathan. David is also survived by Alan and Donna Theriault and their children Marissa and
Michael, Alison Swain and Bill Cole, and Amanda Theriault and her children Cole, Grace and his
littlest buddy Luke who shared an extra special bond with David (Papa). David is predeceased
by his parents Roy in 1996 and Florence in 2015 as well as his older brother Paul in 2006.

The family would like to extend their thanks and gratitude to the team at Midstate Medical
Center for all their care for David during his last few weeks of life. David requested no formal
funeral services to be held. There will be a private celebration of life in his memory for family
and close friends at a later date.
