In Loving Memory of David Tinder
It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of our beloved father, David Tinder, who peacefully left this world on November 4, 2024, after a brave and enduring battle with cancer. David was a longtime resident of New Britain, Connecticut.
Born in Memphis, Tennessee, to the late Charles and Mary Tinder, David spent his childhood across several states before settling in Newington, Connecticut, where he graduated from Newington High School in 1970.
David was a man of many passions, finding joy in working on cars, building car models, fishing, and cheering on his favorite NASCAR drivers and the Dallas Cowboys football team. He also had a gift for cooking and grilling, always bringing his family together over delicious meals.
David’s legacy of love, resilience, and devotion lives on through his cherished family. He is survived by his wife, Beverly Tinder (Casella) of New Britain, Connecticut; his three daughters: Heidi Kuhnly and her husband Shannon of Newington, Connecticut, Amy Vaughan and her husband Jamie of New Britain, Connecticut, and Kimberly Tinder of New Britain, Connecticut. He was also a proud grandfather to five adoring grandchildren: Kaitlyn, Madisyn, Aaron, Liberty, and Alyssa.
The family will honor David’s life with a private celebration.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in David’s memory to Hartford Hospital, Department of Philanthropy, 80 Seymour Street, P.O. Box 5037, Hartford, CT 06102.
The family would like to extend their heartfelt gratitude to the doctors and nurses who cared for David during his courageous two-year journey. Your kindness and compassion will forever remain in our hearts.
David will be deeply missed but will always be remembered for the love and strength he shared with all who knew him.
