Donald Stuart Rider

Donald Stuart Rider, 83, of Plainville, passed away peacefully at home on Friday, January 17, 2020. Don was born in Waterbury on September 28, 1936, the son of the late Harold and LaVerne Rider. He served in the U.S. Air Force. He was a tool and die maker for over 30 years for Pratt & Whitney. He was a long time resident of Plainville, he enjoyed spending time and traveling with his spouse, Caroline Rider, of 57 years. Don also enjoyed spending time with his daughter and grandchildren.

Besides his wife, Don is survived by his daughter Danielle Schnaufer; his son-in-law Chris Schnaufer; his grandchildren Jessica and Matthew Schnaufer; his brother Richard Rider; and his nephews Van Rider and David Heim. He is predeceased by his sister Nadine Heim; his niece Tracy Heim; and nephew Michael Heim.

Don was an avid UConn Basketball and New York Yankee's fan. He enjoyed watching the games with his wife.

A private burial service will be held by his family at a later date, to celebrate his life.
