Doreen Dougeneck Obituary

In Loving Memory of Doreen (Zebrowski) Dougeneck

June 26, 1949 – November 6, 2025

It is with heavy hearts and deep love that we share the passing of our beloved mother,
Doreen (Zebrowski) Dougeneck, who left us on Wednesday, November 6, 2025 after a brave
and dignified fight with cancer. True to her nature, she met her illness with courage, grit, and
a touch of humor — the same way she faced every challenge in her life.

Doreen was the embodiment of strength wrapped in kindness. She gave endlessly to others,
often putting her own needs last, finding joy in making life a little better for those around her.
Her hands were rarely still — they were always tending to her garden, coaxing beauty from
the soil, baking endless Christmas cookies, or bringing worn artwork and weathered statues
back to life with patience and care.

She had a gift for connection. Her neighbors will remember her frequent visits, quick wit, and
those spirited back-and-forths that always ended in laughter. Doreen could hold her own in
any conversation — her sharp humor and fiery spirit were part of what made her so
unforgettable.

Proud of her Polish roots, she carried her heritage with deep respect and joy, weaving its
traditions and flavors into her family’s life and celebrations. She made sure her children
knew where they came from — not just in stories or recipes, but in the values of hard work,
loyalty, and love of community.

Doreen was also deeply dedicated to her work, spending more than 20 years at Hamilton
Standard, where she was known for her reliability, strong work ethic, and unwavering pride in
a job well done. She brought the same care and diligence to her career that she brought to
every part of her life.

To her family, she was both our soft place to land and our greatest source of strength. Her
love was steady, her presence grounding, and her example one we’ll spend a lifetime trying
to live up to.

Doreen is survived by her children and their spouses Scott and Diana Lausier, Tracey
Lausier and Corey and Amy Nolan; her Grand Children Courtney Lausier and Greg Lausier,
Olivia and Patrick Nolan; her Great Grand Children Cooper Jackson and Addison Gaity; her
Brothers David Zebrowski, Chester Zebrowski Jr and Raymond Zebrowski; and her partner
of more than 12 years Jacques Chasse who will forever cherish her laughter, wisdom, and
unwavering love. She was predeceased by her sister Geraldine (Zebrowski) Noonan and her
brother George Zebrowski.

A celebration of her remarkable life will be held from 3pm to 5pm on Friday, November 14 at
Luddy Funeral Home 205 South Main St, New Britain, CT 06051. Prayer service starts at 3pm.
In Lieu of Flowers, please consider a donation to the American Cancer Society in her honor
-- or plant something beautiful in her memory.

Her garden will bloom again this spring, and in every blossom, every neighborly wave, and
every shared smile, we’ll feel her with us still.
