Earl Conover Jr. Obituary

Earl G. Conover, Jr., 54, born Nov 2, 1969, a resident of New Britain, CT, completed his circle of life peacefully on May 15, 2024, at 6:35 am surrounded by his wife Kellie Marie Conover, and daughter, Camille Marie Conover. Born in Philadelphia, PA, Earl was the son of Viola Clark and Reginald Clark. Earl was a faithful member of ENON Tabernacle Baptist Church, in Philadelphia, PA, and would watch worship service virtually every Sunday morning.  Earl graduated from Frankford High School where he excelled as the quarterback of the football team for the “Frankford Pioneers”.  One of his most memorable experiences as a child was being a proud member of the “Young Marines”, a national youth program, focusing on leadership, citizenship through community service, self-discipline, and living a healthy lifestyle.  Earl was a history buff and loved challenging folks about historical facts.  Earl had a competitive nature, especially when it came to his loyalty to the Philadelphia Eagles!  “Fly Eagles Fly” he often quoted!  He loved playing video games, and cooking was his passion. He considered opening a restaurant or food truck at one point.  Earl was also known for providing the best-glazed ham every year for Thanksgiving dinner and was always happy to do the smoking and grilling during summer gatherings and special occasions.

Earl’s most precious gift was his commitment to his family.  He had a great devotion to his wife, Kellie of 23 years.  On December 8, 2021, Earl surprised Kellie with a celebration for their 20th anniversary and a renewal of their wedding vows, officiated by his father who is an ordained pastor.  He and his daughter Camille, often referred to as “Little One”, shared the same smile, warm eyes, and loving, friendly, and trusting nature.

Earl worked many years as a truck driver and in June of 2023, he completed his certification as a Sterilization Technician.  He was offered employment with St. Francis Hospital, Trinity Health of New England, and proudly accepted.

Earl is pre-deceased by his mother Viola Clark of PA, and father-in-law Kenneth Hardrick Spivey of CT.  Left behind to cherish his memory are his wife, Kellie Marie Conover, daughter Camille Marie Conover of CT, stepdaughter Kristina Raquel Smith (Darrell Smith) three grandchildren, Kai, Kamora, and Kaleb Smith, of CT, father Reginald Clark, sister Antoinette Miles, brothers Pabloe Conover of PA, Reginald Clark, Jr, of  New York, mother-in law, Dr. Marie M. Spivey, sisters-in laws Karen Dortche, and Leslie Bell, of CT, nephew Pabloe Conover, Jr., of VA, nieces Jamie Wright, Jessica Wright, and Nikia Dortche, Raven Jones and a host of great nieces, great nephews, aunts and uncles and friends that he loved dearly as they loved him.

Earl loved the Lord and will be sorely missed by his family and all who knew his heart. In memory – John 14:1 NIV “Do not let your hearts be troubled. You believe in God; believe also in me”. The family has chosen to have a memorial service at Union Baptist Church of Hartford, May 24, 2024 at 10:00 am.
