Edith L. Parsons

Edith Parsons, longtime resident of Kensington, passed away on August 13, 2023. She was 95. Born in Orchard Park, NY, she was the daughter of Raymond and Carrie Lewis. She was employed at SNETCO Telephone Company as a telephone operator, retiring in 1986. She was a member of St. Paul Church. Edith enjoyed quilting, sewing, puzzles, feeding birds, and greatly enjoyed making holiday meals. She will be remembered most for her love of family. She is survived by her sister Elsie and brother Calvin.  Six children; Daniel, Kathleen, Patricia, Richard, Mark and Laurie(Jon Gilbert). Her grandchildren, Aaron (Anthony Mathre), Carrie Anne, Karen, William, Kelsey, Jeffrey, Emily, Zachary, David, and Adam. And one great-grandchild, George. She was predeceased by her husband Donald "Bunny" Parsons, her sisters Grace and Lillian, her brother John, her son Michael and two sons in law, Whyn Pelkey and Colin Pitblado.The family wishes to extend their gratitude to all the nurses and caregivers from Accent Care Hospice, with a special thank you to her aide Carmen. Also the family would like to thank Anthony Mathre for his caring and compassionate help and emotional support which proved to be invaluable, and he is considered a part of the family now. Friends are invited to calling hours Friday August 18, 2023, at 10am at Luddy Peterson funeral located at 205 South Main Street, New Britain, CT. Funeral service to be celebrated Friday August 18, 2023 at 11:30 at St. Paul Church located at 485 Alling Street, Kensington, CT.Interment to immediately follow at St. Mary Cemetery located at 1141 Stanley Street, New Britain, CT. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Alzheimer's Association at 225 N.
