Edithroxanne (Roxi) Dziadowicz passed away at home unexpectedly on January 3, 2021 and joins her family at rest.
Born in September 1949 as Edward in New Britain to Mary (Bielawski) and Edward Dziadowicz Sr., Roxi attended Saint Joseph School, St. Thomas Aquinas High School, and the University of Hartford.
Roxi sampled many different paths in life, briefly studying to be a Catholic priest, moving to California for a time, and obtaining a private pilot’s license, but dedication to family always brought Roxi back to New Britain. As Edward, Roxi worked for many years at Window Rama and then Town Fair Tire, but spent the last twenty years as Roxi working at TD Bank.
Outside of work, Roxi was an avid bowler (once achieving a perfect 300 game), and kept an extensive aquarium with rare tropical saltwater fish, which she loved to show to others. Most of all Roxi enjoyed activities that included close family like basketball, playing chess, weightlifting, cycling, trips to see the Mets, fishing, and, perhaps most of all, engaging in passionate political discussions. Roxi’s love of music, especially jazz and the blues, took her to many shows across the state and led her to get involved with the Connecticut Blues Society.
Roxi had a big heart and leaves behind many touched by her in life, dear friends Mark Maroun, Joan Sargent, Annette, and cousins Mark Bielawski, Alan Bielawski, and Joseph Horvath. In addition to her parents, Roxi was predeceased by her brother Dennis of Stafford Springs, and sister Patricia (Pat) of Plainville.
Owing to the pandemic, there will be no calling hours or funeral. Final arrangements being handled by Luddy’s.
In lieu of flowers, please consider making a random act of kindness to another person as a tribute to Roxi’s extraordinary life.
