Norwich, CT Edward (Ed) Desnoyers, age 62, shuffled off this mortal coil on Monday, December 12,
2022 after years of battling chronic health issues. He was born in Providence, RI to Eleanor and Arthur
Desnoyers. He was a resident of Norwich, CT for most of his life.
The youngest of 7 children, Ed was his father’s pride and joy. In grade school he loved the responsibility
of being a bathroom monitor. He took up boxing as a teenager, participating in tournaments and even
winning a few. As an adult, Ed was a proud father and later, an even prouder grandfather. Throughout
his life he was an avid reader, fan of science fiction, jack of all trades, and unrepentant cat lover.
Despite his limited resources, Ed was a helper who never hesitated to give what he had to those he had
the ability to assist. He is fondly remembered as a generous person with a kind heart.
Ed is survived by his sister, Denise Craig of Florida, daughters Lylliane Battle of Virginia and Sylvia
(Joshua) Burke of Connecticut, 2 sons and grandchildren Kayla Pullins, Danae Battle, Shawn Battle,
Joshua Burke Jr, Elijah Burke, and Skye Burke.
He was predeceased by his parents, his sister Michelle (Desnoyers) Lee, and brothers Arthur Desnoyers,
Albert Tulli, Joseph Tulli, and James Desnoyers.
A private graveside service will be held at Maplewood Cemetery in Norwich in Spring 2023, after which
he will be laid to rest beside his beloved sister Michelle. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that anyone
wishing to honor his memory donate books to their local library or make a donation to their local food
pantry.
