Elizabeth Edwards Brown (a.k.a. “Betty Brown”) of Naugatuck, CT, peacefully passed away on March 02, 2024. She lived 89 full years.
After leaving New York Telephone Company, she became a domestic goddess and enjoyed taking care of her family and anyone in need. Betty was quick-witted, first to laugh or share a joke, and was always willing to lend a helping hand. She enjoyed bowling with her lady friends (“The Kitchen Cuties”); she volunteered with the Catholic Daughters of America; and she spent many hours golfing. She will be greatly missed by all the hearts she has touched.
Born in Albany, NY, she was the daughter of William and Anne Edwards. She is survived by three daughters, Kimberley Henken and husband Glenn of Walden, NY, Karen Ozelski and husband James of Naugatuck, CT, and Elizabeth Surehan and husband Yil of South Kingstown, RI; a son, Gerald Brown and wife River of Marlborough, CT; eight grandchildren, and ten great-grandchildren, along with several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her husband George Brown (her one and only true love), and her siblings Marjorie Johnson, Marilyn Roos, Griffith Edwards, and Dorothy McIntosh.
A funeral mass will be held on Friday, March 22, 2024 at 11:00 a.m. at St. Francis Assisi, 391 Delaware Avenue, Albany, NY. Immediately after the mass, she will be laid to rest at Our Lady Help of Christians Cemetery, 41 Jolley Road, Glenmont, NY.
