Francis William McLaughlin, Jr., age 77 of New Britain, CT., entered into eternal rest on Sunday, October 24, 2021, surrounded by the love and comfort of his family.
Francis was born June 8, 1944 in New Britain, CT., the beloved son of the late Francis William McLaughlin & Nellie (Meskis) McLaughlin.
Francis was a loving and dedicated husband, father, grandfather, and friend. He was a graduate of New Britain High School, and worked for many years as a machinist for the Caval Tool & Machine Company. Francis was a devout Catholic and a parishioner of St. John the Evangelist Church. He enjoyed spending time with his family, saltwater fishing, watching the New York Yankees, and hanging out with his cat, Babe. Francis will be missed deeply by all who had the honor of knowing him.
In addition to his parents, Francis was predeceased by his; wife of over 50 years, Dorothy; grandson, Daniel James Briganti; longtime friend, Dominic Woznis.
Francis is survived by his: daughter, Kathleen Turner & son-in-law Christopher of Colchester, CT.; daughter, Karen Laurin & son-in-law Kenneth; son, Francis W. McLaughlin & daughter-in-law Karin of East Hampton, CT.; nine grandchildren, Matthew Kliszewski, Jonathan Kliszewski, Joseph Turner, Zachary Turner, Ryan Kliszewski, Kristen Daley & spouse Devin, Kayla McLaughlin, Evan Turner, Meagan McLaughlin; two great-grandsons, Charles Turner, Noah Kliszewski ; sister, Marion McLaughlin Wheeler of Newington; and a host of extended family and friends who will cherish his memory.
Friends may greet the family on Thursday, October 28, 2021 from 9:00 AM – 10:30 AM at Luddy-Peterson Funeral Home 205 S. Main Street, New Britain, CT. 06051. A Mass of Christian Burial will follow immediately to St. John the Evangelist Church, 655 East Street, New Britain, CT 06051. Interment will proceed to St. Mary Cemetery, 1309 Stanley St, New Britain, CT.
The family would like to extend a special “Thank you,” to the New Britain Herald Square Kidney Dialysis Center for taking care of Francis for the past five years.
