Gail Blackburn, 66, longtime resident of Plainville, CT, passed away on July 13, 2021. Born in New Britain, CT, to Gordon and Edna Blackburn. She attended Berlin High School. Earlier in life, Gail worked as a certified nursing assistant. She was a warm, loving and affectionate mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, cousin and friend. She was very understanding, someone you could turn to, who offered great advice. She was sometimes silly, with a great sense of humor and an infectious laugh. She was one-of-a-kind, with a fiery warrior spirit. Gail enjoyed arts and crafts and was very talented at drawing, knitting, crocheting, macramé and more. She loved music, dancing and going to concerts. She was an avid reader, always surrounded by books and also a very talented writer. She was a great cook and made the best banana bread! She loved gardening and was great at taking care of plants. She also loved to grow fresh herbs and vegetables. She took an interest in herbal remedies and cures. She will be remembered for her sweet smile, her caring and gentle nature, her thoughtfulness and creativity, her resilience and strength, her spirituality and wisdom.
She is survived by her three daughters, Jennifer, Heather and Jessica Walsh, her grandson Louie, her two sisters Debra Siegrist and Joyce Blackburn, and her nieces and nephews.
She will be missed by many and forever in the hearts of those who loved her.
Memorial Service will be celebrated on July 30th from 5-7pm at Luddy-Peterson’s Funeral Home located at 205 South Main Street, New Britain, CT 06051.
