Dear Vicki & Scott,
My friend from years ago. George, Myself, Belden Boardman , Don Brush and  Alden Heinz were                 "The Connecticut Valley Boys".. We formed at Hall High School in the early 50's. We played @ many school functions as well as other outside events. I played Banjo, George on Mandolin, Bel & Alden on guitar and Don on Bass. The kids @ Hall loved us. Kind of old time country / Blue grass music. One of my favorite songs was George singing, "Long Gone lonesome Blues". A great Hank Williams song.
George & I were quite close then, sharing many classes @ Hall. One day in "Shop" we decided to become "Blood Brothers".  We both made a small cut in each of our thumbs, then pressed them together
to mingle the blood , ( like the American Indians did ).
Our sharing of music was our big thing and enjoyed it so much. After High School we saw less of each other however, in 1963, My wife and I lost our dear 1st Daughter Laurel, in an accident, but George came and sat w/us and comforted us. We will never forget that empathy and concern for Louise and I during that awful time. I lost track of George for many years . The last time I saw him was at the Berlin Fairgrounds. We talked and reminist for awhile then said goodbye.
I'm glad George and I crossed paths for awhile in this life. he was great friend and " brother" with a love of music, as I have .
 I'll never forget him.

Dear Vicki and Scott ,
My condolences at the passing of your Dad, I did not know him, except for maybe a parent teacher conference when I had you for a student at Lake Garda School. As I read his obituary I realized what a talented, exciting and loving father he was! You and your family will miss him greatly.
. Jacqueline and Matthew must have shared stories of their grandpa in school when I had them for students at Duffy School in West Hartford.. Sorry I did not have Brendan as my student there! Give my regards to them!😍 May your father rest and peace knowing his family and friends thought so highly of him.
Peace and Love,☮️❤️

I was one of the nurses who had the pleasure of caring for Mr. Avak at Wolcott View. He was such a funny man, with so many stories to tell. Whenever we couldn’t find George, he was at the piano. What a blessing to have been a part of such a great life. My condolences.

My condolences to his family. I am a Nurse that took care of him at a Nursing Home.  I was very fond of George and he told me all about his life and all of his accomplishments.  He taught me how to speak Greek and would play the piano and sing to me. I will miss him terribly. Rock the Heavens with your beautiful voice. RIP my friend
