Georgette Roy

Georgette Roy passed away peacefully on Sunday, December 6th, at Hartford Hospital at the age of 93.
Her lifetime of faith and prayer was rewarded with a serene crossing over to be reunited with her husband Roger who passed away in 1994. We can hear our father Roger say " ma femme, je t’attendais, maintenant nous sommes ensemble pour toujours."  They came to the United States with very little, but they loved and supported each other, and started a new life here in Connecticut.

She was born July 7th, 1927 in St. Neree, Quebec. Canada. She is the daughter of Alfred and Alice (Laflamme) Boutin, she was 1 of 8 children and predeceased by four brothers, Lucien, Roger, Leopold, and Lionel, along with two sisters, Marie-Jeanne Bouffard, and Fleur-Ange Boutin.  She is survived by her youngest sister Doris Fazzina of Kensington, who has been a wonderful source of companionship and support throughout her life. 

Georgette is survived by her two sons, Daniel Roy and his wife Michele of New Britain, and Martin Roy and his wife Teresa of Newington. She is also survived by four loving grandchildren, Carolyn Salwen and her husband Michael of Rocky Hill, Kevin Roy of New Britain and his fiance April Calvin, Ian Roy and his wife Lacey of Alhambra, CA., and Olivia Roy of New Britain. She also leaves behind two great grandchildren, Evan Salwen and Caleb Ceccorulli. She also leaves behind several nieces and nephews in the U.S. and Canada.

Georgette has been a resident of New Britain for over 60 years, and a member of St. Joseph's Church over that time. She retired from Stanley Tool after nearly 20 years of service. She loved cooking, gardening and spending time with her family. She was tireless when it came to helping loved ones regardless of the effort involved.

Special thanks to the staff at West Hartford Health and Rehab for the wonderful, attentive care over the last four years. We would also like to thank the caring staff at Hartford Hospital for their special care in her final days.

Friends may greet the family on Monday, December 14th, 2020 from 8:30am - 10:30am at Luddy & Peterson Funeral Home,  205 S. Main St. New Britain, CT. A Mass of Christian burial will follow at 11:00am at the Divine Providence Church next door. Interment will proceed to St Mary's Cemetery in New Britain.
