Geraldine “Gerry” Limmer Francis, 81, of New Britain, passed away peacefully on January 19, 2026. Born in Meriden on June 10, 1944, she was the beloved daughter of the late Edward and Edna Limmer.
A proud graduate of Platt High School, Class of 1962, Geraldine dedicated her life to the care of others. Her compassionate nature led her to a fulfilling 30-year career as a Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) at Miller Memorial Community, where she was known for her kindness and unwavering commitment to her patients. In her later years, she found great purpose providing care for the Franciscan Nuns, a role that truly reflected her servant’s heart.
Gerry was the devoted wife of the late Paul S. Francis, who predeceased her in 2003. She found her greatest joy in her family and in the simple pleasures of life. An avid reader, she could often be found with a book in hand, and she cherished every opportunity to vacation in the Moosehead Lake region of Maine, where she found peace in the beauty of the outdoors.
She is survived by her loving children: Charlene Mroczka and her husband Matthew of Las Vegas, NV; and Kevin L. Francis and his partner Jennifer Dunn of Little River, SC. Her legacy of love continues through her cherished grandchildren: Paul Francis of Little River, SC; Kevin M. Francis of East Haven, CT; Shelby Korb of Cheshire, CT; and Alyssa Mroczka of Las Vegas, NV.
