Geraldine “Jeri” A. Davis, 79, died peacefully on Sunday, December 26, 2021 at Hartford Hospital.
Jeri was born on February 17, 1942 in Springfield, MA, to the late Guido and Carmela Coletto. She most recently resided in Hobe Sound, Florida as well as East Hartford, Connecticut, where she lived for most of her life.
Jeri worked as a dedicated nurse at Hartford Hospital in the intensive care unit for over 40 years. The family is grateful for the many nurses and hospital staff who in turn recently took extremely good care of her when she needed it most.
When she wasn’t working, one of her favorite places was at home in her kitchen. She loved cooking and baking for family and friends. If she wasn’t in her kitchen, she wanted to be in Italy where she visited 10 times over the years. Her passion for the food and culture comes from her Italian heritage. She also loved relaxing on a beach soaking up the sun, watching the Pittsburgh Steelers (a life long fan), sipping red wine, drinking coffee, and most of all spending time with family and friends. Her warm smile, generous heart, and laughter will be deeply missed by all who loved her.
She leaves behind her husband Joseph W. Davis of East Hartford, CT as well as her son Steven J. Davis and his wife Erika Lindeberg of Lebanon, CT and her grandson Cameron M. Davis of Lebanon, CT. She also leaves behind her four beloved sisters, Lucille (Wilho) Aho, Virginia (Tom) Perrone, Jean-Marie Coletto, and Rosanne Coletto as well as many nieces and nephews, whom she loved dearly.
There will be no funeral service. A celebration of life gathering for family and friends will be held at a later date to be determined.
In lieu of flowers, please consider donating in memory of Jeri to the Connecticut Humane Society. There was not a dog she met that she didn’t love. https://cthumane.org Or to one of her favorite charities: St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital. www.stjude.org
