Gerard Murray Obituary

Gerard “Gerry” R. Murray passed away on Sunday April 4, 2021 after battling a host of chronic illnesses for several years.  He was the loving husband of Ann (Olean) Murray.

He was born in New York City November 18, 1959; the son of the late Bartholomew R. Murray and Dolores A. Murray.  He lived with his parents and sister in the The Bronx through kindergarten.  In 1965, the family moved to Panama for several years and Gerry attended elementary school in Balboa, Canal Zone.  After Panama, Gerry enjoyed the California life for many years in Palos Verdes, becoming a great skate boarder and living by the sea.  During his junior year in High School the family transferred to Ridgefield, Connecticut in 1976 and he lived in the area since then.

Gerry loved music and attending concerts throughout his life beginning with concerts at The Forum in Los Angeles and continuing that tradition with his cousin Ann Marie and, in his later years, with his dear friend Greg.

Gerry was loved by all who met him. He was very social and made friends wherever he went. 

A true loyal friend to all who knew him, he was kind and considerate.  Always willing to lend a helping hand.

He was a talented licensed electrician for over 25 years; hardworking, and dedicated.  In his later years he worked for Lowes Home Center electrical department to keep busy and connected.

He is survived by his wife, Ann Murray, his stepdaughter April Irizarry her husband Alex and their daughter Victoria, his sister, Jaqueline Murray, her husband Bill Hogan, and their children, William and Bridgette, his Aunt Jeannie Devos and cousin Ann Marie Still as well as several cousins and extended family residing throughout the country.

He was a very loving and good man, Gerry will be greatly missed and remembered by his family, friends and all who knew him.
