Giuseppe Cristaldi

Giuseppe "Joe" Cristaldi, 72, of Southington, passed away January 24, 2020, with his loving family by his side. He was born on March 18, 1947 in Sicily, to the late Salvatore and Lucia (Infantino) Cristaldi.
Joe was a jack-of-all trades. He was a handyman and he worked maintenance for EIS for 28 years, and retired from Hartford Direct. He was strong and hard working, and worked until his body wouldn't let him. He was a wonderful and proud provider for his family. He was a good and loving husband, father, step-father, and grandfather. Joe was a guy who had the ability to light up a room when he walked in. He had a fun loving, happy personality and he liked to joke around with friends. Everyone seemed to know him, anywhere he went.
Joe leaves to cherish his memories, his loving wife of 20 years, who he always had to have by his side, Ethelmae "Mae" (Soucie) Elliotte-Cristaldi. He also leaves behind his son Michael and his wife Jennifer Cristaldi; his step-sons John Paul and his wife Sue Elliotte, Timothy Elliotte and Ted Elliotte; his daughters Zina and her husband Mark Zimmitti, Michelle and her husband Michael Wilk, Diane and her husband Brian Fisette; his brother Alfredo Cristaldi; his sisters Marie Vargas, Frances Dickenson and Suzanne Colavito; his sisters-in-law Elaine McMahon and Cynthia Foligno; his brother-in-law Donald Soucie; ten loving grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews. Besides his parents, Joe is predeceased by his sister Silvia Cristaldi; sister-in-law Donna Balius; and his brother-in-law Gerry Soucie.
Family and friends are invited to a memorial service on Saturday, February 1, 2020, from 8:30-11AM at the Luddy-Peterson Funeral Home, 205 S. Main St., New Britain. A Mass of Christian Burial will follow, at the Divine Providence, St. Joseph's Church, 195 S. Main St., New Britain, at 11AM.
