Grace Bosco

Grace Bosco, 103, of West Haven, died of COVID-19 on Wednesday, January 6, 2021 at Bridgeport Hospital.

Born on September 30, 1917, Grace was a Connecticut resident all her life. In 1962, she moved with her family from New Haven to West Haven, where she lived until 2019. That year, she moved to West River Healthcare Center in Milford.

She was predeceased by both her parents, Ignazio Bosco and Anna Bua Bosco; all of her siblings, Pauline Cerrone, Annunziata Bosco, Joseph Bosco, Dominick Bosco, Jennie Torello, and Nancy Coppola; and her nephew, Edward Torello.

Grace was a seamstress who worked all her life until retirement and was a member of the International Ladies’ Garment Workers’ Union. She lived through the pandemic of 1918, the Great Depression, and WWII. She loved dogs, cheesecake, and the New York Yankees.

She was devoted to her family and doted on her nieces and nephews, Mary Ann Lassen, Dominick Bosco, Anthony Torello, Anna Marie Proto, Loretta Lipkvich, Edward Torello, Louis Coppola, and Michael Cerrone; and later on her grandnieces and grandnephews Brian Torello, Mickey Torello, Christopher Proto, Allison Proto, Teri Bettum, Justin Lipkvich, Malery Lassen, Seth Lassen, Mark Lassen, Steven Lassen, Ariana Coppola, Matthew Coppola, Sunny Bosco, Bonne Bosco, Giulianna Bosco, and Christopher Biase. Grace cared for her parents until their passing.

She was described as “a wonderful friend” by neighbors in West Haven, many of whom she had maintained lifelong friendships with. She will be remembered for her honesty, passionate loyalty to her loved ones, and strength, which never dimmed, even in her advanced years.
