Gregory M. Lueders

Gregory M. Lueders, 62, of Unionville, CT passed away on July 3, 2026.

Greg was born in Newark, New Jersey on May 27, 1964, son of the late Joan and Norman Lueders. He was a graduate of St. Agnes Nursery, Ridge St. School, and Essex Catholic High School, all in Newark, NJ. He received his college degree in business from St. Francis University in Altoona, PA.

Gregory is survived by his siblings: Richard (Debbie) of Mt. Juliet, Tennessee; Pamela (Perry) Zirpoli of Nutley, New Jersey; Robert (Dana) of Colonia, New Jersey; and John of St. Petersburg, Florida. He is also survived by his nieces, Jessica and Carmela, and his nephews, Chris, Perry, Paul, Roman, Jude, and Lorenzo.

Greg was a generous guy who would help friends and new acquaintances alike. He managed Helmers’ Restaurant in Hoboken, NJ, a beloved family and local establishment for over 70 years. He later managed the Bull Tavern at the Tollgate Hill Inn in Litchfield, CT. He also worked at Autograph, his Uncle John Pecora’s photography and printing company. Greg was an avid collector of antiques and memorabilia, and he worked in real estate. In these past few years, he enjoyed wintering in sunny Florida with family and friends. He always advised, "Take a walk on the beach; the fresh air and ocean will fill your soul." Greg will be remembered by his family, his friends, and the strangers in need whom he immediately welcomed and loved.

Greg spent his life always looking for ways to help others, so it is no surprise to those who knew him that his final act was one of profound generosity. Through organ donation, Greg shared the ultimate gift—the gift of life—ensuring that his spirit of kindness continues to shine in the world.
