James Golon
Obituary
James Golon, longtime resident of New Britain, passed away on March 18, 2023. He was 82.
Born in New Britain, CT, he was the son of Honorable Lawrence and Apolonia Golon. He graduated St. Thomas Aquinas High School, Mount St. Mary College, CCSU, and University of Hartford where he received his master's degree in education.
He was employed as an elementary teacher in New Britain before he went to the police department and served 27 years before he retired in 1992. He was an avid reader and coin and stamp collector. He was a devoid Catholic. His son James said he was truly one of a kind.
He is survived by his wife Deborah, 2 sons, James Jr. (New Britain) and Christopher Golon (California), and their mother Gale DiMauro.
He was predeceased by his parents and 2 brothers, Father Lawrence Golon and Donald Golon.
Friends are invited to calling hours on Wednesday March,22,2023 4-7 PM at Luddy & Peterson’s Funeral Home, 205 South Main Street, New Britain, CT. A mass of Christian burial will be celebrated Thursday 2023 at 10:00AM at Saint Joseph Church, 195 South Main Street, New Britain, CT.
