Janel Rossignol

Janel C. Rossignol, 91, of New Britain, entered into eternal rest on April 12, 2021. He was the loving husband of Emily (Muszynski) Rossignol for 67 years. Janel was Emily’s one and only true love and she will miss him dearly.

Janel was the son of the late Donat and Yvonne (Hebert) Rossignol.

He was a loving and devoted husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother, uncle, cousin and a devoted member of his church. He put his family, friends and his fellow “man” foremost – not for praise, but with God’s love in his heart.

In addition to his wife Emily, he leaves behind his sister, Muriel Masse. Janel is also survived by his children; Ruth Savage and her husband Harold, Richard Rossignol and his wife Karen, Janet Smith and her husband Bruce, Andrew Rossignol and partner Christy Spurlock, James Rossignol and his wife Donna, Glenn Rossignol and his wife Peggy; daughter-in-law, Donna L. Rossignol; 16 grandchildren; 8 great-grandchildren as well as his special god children, his surviving sister-in-law’s, his many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

Janel is predeceased by his grandson, Kyle Rossignol; his 2 sisters, Aurore Collins and Priscilla Bernard; 5 brothers, Gerard Rossignol, Norman Rossignol, Donald Rossignol, Claude Rossignol and Evan Rossignol as well as many brother-in-law’s, sister-in-law’s, nieces and nephews.

The family would like to thank the Hospital of Central Connecticut Critical Care Unit and Hospice Team for their compassionate care and the dignity they provided Janel during his last days.

A Mass of Christian burial will be held Saturday, April 24th at 12:30 PM at St John the Evangelist Church, 31 Newington Avenue, New Britain. Mask and social distancing precautions are required. Due to the current pandemic the graveside service will be for immediate family only. A celebration of life will be held at a later date for family and friends. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be made in Janel’s name to the charity of one’s choice or to St John the Evangelist Church.
