Janette Mercado was called Home to be with the Lord at the young age of 52, on June 1, 2021 after a valiant battle against glioblastoma cancer. Janette was a loyal Christian who devoted her life to being selfless, compassionate, and faithful.
Janette was born September 6,1968 in Mayagüez, Puerto Rico to Gilberto Mercado and Gloria Perez. When her family moved to New Britain, CT, Janette continued her education at Tunxis Community College graduating with an Associate of Science degree. Through her years of employment, she’s counseled men and women struggling with alcohol, drug, and physical abuse. As well as working at the Hospital for Special Care and a lead machine operator at Lyons Tool and Die Co.
In addition to her parents, Gilberto Mercado Sr. and Gloria Perez, Janette is survived by her siblings, Elizabeth Mendez , Maritza Mendez, Marilyn Mercado ,Gilberto Mercado, Edward Mercado, and Gloria Mercado ; her nieces, Elizabeth Santana and Camila Mercado ; her nephews, Carlos Hernandez , Lewis Santos, Gilberto Mercado lll, Devon Mercado, Luis Mercado, and Emilio Mercado; her great niece and nephew, Hudson Fields and Noei Hernandez; her dear family and friends, Felicia Villard and Gladys Martinez ; and her loving goddaughter, Guilliana Santana.
Janette Mercado will forever live in the hearts of her loved ones, for she has imprinted in their minds to always have faith in God and that family is the most important thing in the world.

Arrangements have been entrusted to the Luddy-Peterson Funeral Home. Services will be held privately at the convenience of the family.
