Jean (Magri) DiCesare of Enfield, CT passed away on Saturday, August 12th after a short illness. She was born in Plainville and raised in New Britain graduating from St. Joseph’s grammar school class of ’45 and New Britain High School class of ’49. She was pre-deceased by her husband Arthur of Waterbury and her son David of Wolcott. Jean worked as a telegraph operator for Western Union until she left to raise her family and had quite an adventure traveling cross country with her husband and their first-born son while Arthur was in the service during the Korean war. Her career expanded to Unisys Corporation and then Easter Seals in Waterbury until her retirement in 2005 when she moved to Enfield, but it did not stop there. Jean was actively involved with the Enfield Senior Center and nothing made her happier than taking day trips, long walks, gardening, dining out, spending time with friends and family and being at the shore. Jean leaves behind her son Anthony and daughter in law Donna (Farina) of Southington; her daughter in law Angela (Macri) of Bristol and her daughter Donna (DiCesare) Oski of Enfield. She also leaves behind her grandchildren Stacey, Stephanie and Andrea; Christina and her husband Eric Menchel; Michael, his wife Mariangela and her beloved Great Granddaughter Mia Jade; and Christopher, Nicholas. While many family members pre deceased Jean, she also leaves behind several cousins and nieces and nephews whom she cherished very much. Family meant everything to her. Jean was an incredible mom, grammy and friend, so compassionate, caring and understanding. Jean will be sadly missed but will be forever in our hearts. A funeral Mass will be held Thursday, August 17th at St Joseph’s Church 195 S Main St, New Britain at 10:00 and burial will be at the Pine Grove Cemetery, 850 Meriden Road in Waterbury, CT immediately following. In lieu of flowers, kindly make contributions to St Jude’s Children’s Research Hospital 2 Pine West Plaza #202, Albany, NY 12205
