John V. Genovese

John V. Genovese, age 77 of Wallingford, CT., passed into eternity April 15, 2022, after a lengthy illness. He was born in Waterbury Ct , son of James and Jean Genovese. He was predeceased by his wife MaryAnn (Powers), his parents and his brother Robert L. Genovese of Naugatuck. He also was predeceased by his much loved dogs, Foxy and Emma Sue. He is survived by his sister Veronica Erickson-Summo of Wallingford, who provided loving care for him for the past 3 years, his brother James Genovese of Wallingford, his sister-in-law Rose Genovese of Naugatuck,  many cousins, numerous nieces and nephews, grand nieces and nephews and  friends… especially his life long friend Stanley ”Stash” Rek, Vinny L., Vinny B., George, Lynn, his friends at Chris’ Restaurant  and his fellow members of the Libero Pensiero Society of Wallingford.

John had many interests, he was an avid NY Yankees and Pittsburgh Steelers fan, he loved going to the casino with family and friends, he loved following PGA golf tournaments, and meeting with his friends for dinner. John was a unique individual, he was an irascible soul who could be gruff yet engaging. There will never be another like him.

Luddy and Peterson Funeral Home and Crematory were in charge of services. There were no calling hours and internment is at the convenience of his family. A memorial gathering will be held in the near future, date, place and time will be forthcoming.

His family would like to thank the ER staff and the staff of Pavilion D at MidState Medical Center for their professional care and support and the Hartford Health Care Hospice staff for their exceptional approach to his care, his family would also like to thank the staff of Fresenius Kidney Care of Meriden for the care given to John for the past several years
