John Green died peacefully on January 13, 2021 after a brief illness. He was 91 years old.
Born in New Britain, CT 1929, he was a veteran of the US Air Force, a graduate of Hillyer College and president of the JW Green Company in Plainville, CT from 1957 until present.
He is survived by two sons, Gerald and Randall Green; three grandchildren, Lily Green, Lauren and Zane Harman; two sisters, Alice Judd and Marsha Boratynski, several nieces and nephews and numerous friends....

February 26, 2021 10:32 AMI am sorry to hear of John's passing last month when i went into the yard to sell some steel. I enjoyed our 10 or 15 minute talks for the past 30 years when I stopped in.Funny part was, Most of our talks were about life and the state of the world, not scrap. About the best statement a person can say is that John was a person I respected and trusted. I will miss you.
