John F Ribeiro

John Ribeiro, 86, of New Britain, CT, died peacefully surrounded by his family, after a long journey with dementia.

John was born in Caldas da Rainha, Portugal and came to America in 1960 looking for the one and only love of his life.  His deep love and devotion for his wife of nearly 65 years was obvious to all. He was a hardworking man, dedicated to caring for his family.

While he had many jobs over the years, his favorite job was working as a Flight Attendant for United Airlines, doing what he loved the most:  traveling and making  people happy.
He was a jack of all trades and could fix anything.  He worked hard at keeping a green lawn which was the envy of all his neighbors.  Although he loved his stamp and coin collections, his real passion was being with people and making them smile. He would often stop strangers with a joke, just to bring them laughter.

He will be forever missed by his wife Aida, his son and daughter, John and Diana, and their spouses.  Also surviving him are his brother, Henrique Ribeiro and his wife, Graziela along with nieces, nephews and grandchildren.

Memorial service will be held at .....Bethany Covenant Church, 785 Mill Street, Berlin CT, March 1st, 2025 at 11 am.
