Jose A. Pabon-Velez (Chen)

Jose A. Pabon-Velez (Chen), age 71, of New Britain, CT, passed away peacefully on Saturday, August 3rd, 2024, at the Hospital of Central Connecticut. Born in San Germán, Puerto Rico, Jose was the beloved son of the late Marco Pabon and Candida Velez.

Jose is survived by his wife, Wanda Herrera and his loving family, including eight children: Danny Pabon; Ana Pabon; Joshua Perez; Jose (Rick) Pabon; Alexander Pabon; Arleen Pabon; and Marcus Pabon. He also leaves behind three stepchildren: Jamaly Rios, Janiva Herrera and Mariano Garcia-Herrera, along with many grandchildren and many extended family members and dear friends.

In addition to his parents, Jose was predeceased by his son, Jose Angel Pabon of Juana Diaz, Puerto Rico, and three sisters: Alicia Pabon, Carmen Pabon, and Nilda Pabon.

Jose was a cherished brother to Hector Quirindongo and Efrain Pabon of New Britain, CT; Luz Cancel of Palm Bay, Florida; and Gladys Quirindongo of San Germán, Puerto Rico.

Jose will be deeply missed by his family and friends. His warmth, kindness, and passion for cooking and his big heart for his family and friends will forever be remembered.
